I took a break from my blog and life in general really and my family and I went to Florida for 5 days! It was what I needed; time with my family away from real life, time to breathe. While in Florida my husband and I officially got married! I’ve been to quite a few weddings and I’m not saying there’s a wrong or right way to do one; to each their own, but I think my wedding was fucking phenomenal. It was cheap, it was low key, it was small, it was quiet, it was beautiful, it was perfect, it was everything I dreamed it would be. I’ve never been to the ocean, it’s been on my bucket list forever and my husband knew that. We got married on the beach in Florida with just our kids and immediate family. We had the officiate preform a non religious non traditional ceremony where we wrote our own vows and our family filmed and took pictures. This was the least stressful wedding I’ve ever been a part of. Every wedding I’ve ever attended seems like it’s more about the folks attending than it is about the folks getting married, like they’re putting on a show to entertain. This wedding was all about us and our family, it was amazing. The sun was out even though it was forecasted to rain the entire time, the tide stayed out until the moment we kissed and then it came up and we all splashed around in the water in our wedding attire, there wasn’t a worry or a care in the world. I got to marry my best friend in front of our family, in front of the ocean, in front of the universe and it couldn’t have been more perfect. This may be weird for some of you, but I absolutely believe in spirit guides and I know I’m heading down the right path when I see mine; the raven. I’ve been seeing it for a couple years now. When m my husband was incarcerated I used to see just one and ever since he got out we’ve seen 2 together, always. At our hotel room there was a nest with two ravens. While we were at the beach there were two flying over head the whole time and at Sea World they were hanging out in the parking lot with us and we got to feed them popcorn. We see them much more often now that we’ve started making these positive changes in our life and I can’t speak for him, but when I see them I know I’m doing the right thing. Seeing them the entire time we were in Florida was just what I needed, the break from reality, the joining of our lives, the ravens just let me know that everything is going right. Florida was amazing. Our wedding was amazing. The time with our family was amazing. The signs from our spirit guides were amazing. I so needed this trip. It helped me recenter. It helped me appreciate the little things again. It gave me time to breathe and relax. We had a great trip and I’m glad to be home.
